Why rinsing with heated water?
The EN-15154-5 and AnsiZ 358.1 standard recommend a temperature of the water for eyewashes and emergency showers between 16°C-38°C, ideally between 20°C-25°C, and this for at least 15 minutes with a minimum flow rate of 60l/min-76l/min.
When rinsing with heated water, a longer rinsing time is possible, thermal shock is avoided and rinsing provides immediate pain relief.
It is important to provide eye showers and emergency showers with heated water. Rinsing with heated water at 20°C-25°C is important in situations where emergency showers are used, such as in industrial environments or laboratories where workers may be exposed to hazardous substances or chemicals.
